Bringing Back the Buffalo

Description: This is a mystical scene where Great Spirit is placing buffalo back on the prairie. An eagle passes by while buffalo clouds pass overhead. In the foreground is a pile of rocks with a buffalo skull placed on the pile. Some plains tribes believed these structures would attract the buffalo herd "Bringing Back the Buffalo". Allen first photographed the sculptures of each individual cast paper piece he created. The sculptures were accomplished in a variety of sizes over a period of time for many different original pieces.
